I see a lot of people want to get it right the first time.
We want to NOT fall into our habit at all, we want to NOT say that thing that starts an argument, we want to somehow PREVENT uncomfortable feelings from starting in the first place.
Getting it “right”, as our mind defines it, is a losing battle. But what if we don’t need to control or shape or prevent anything? Instead, we get it how we get it….life unfolds the way it unfolds…as we see that it doesn’t matter so much?
We’re always bouncing back. You fall into a hole and you’re instantly popped out of that hole. You feel something and that feeling is instantly changing. Would resilience be far easier than prevention?
I’ll share some examples from sports and other areas of life that highlight this distinction.
