EP196: You don’t have to sit with uncomfortable feelings

This episode was inspired by a question posted on our LSBC graduate forum. It was part of a bigger conversation about a habit that was currently feeling heavy and out of control, but the question at the very end of the thread grabbed my attention.

I think my main issue is my unwillingness to sit with the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in the moment. But how do I get to the point where I can do that?”

What does it mean to “sit with the uncomfortable thoughts and feelings”? What does it mean for any of us?

Is this something we need to do?

Is this what paves the way for freedom from habits?

What even is a thought or a feeling? Isn’t this something we should know, or at least explore, if we’re to “sit with” them?

I’ll discuss these questions and many more in this episode.
